Why we built this
Federal compliance paperwork is genuinely painful. Contractors spend hours hunting for domestic manufacturers, chasing compliance letters, and piecing together documentation that should have been easy to get. Manufacturers with genuinely American-made products lose bids to importers because the documentation isn't accessible when the specifier is making decisions.
Buy BABA exists to fix the documentation problem. Not to certify compliance — we're clear about what we are and aren't — but to be the place where the paperwork is already organized when a contractor needs it.
What we do
We curate a catalog of domestically manufactured construction products, primarily in the categories that come up repeatedly on federally funded projects: bathroom accessories (Division 10 28), toilet partitions (Division 10 21), fire protection specialties (Division 10 44), plumbing fixtures (Division 22), and lockers (Division 10 51).
For each product, we collect and maintain whatever compliance documentation the manufacturer provides — spec sheets, Buy America compliance letters, country of origin statements. We rate each product on a 1–5 compliance level based on what's on file. When a contractor needs documentation, it's there to download.
For project work, contractors can request quotes and we'll coordinate with manufacturers on pricing, lead times, and any project-specific documentation needs.
What we're not
We're not a federal agency. We're not a compliance certification body. We're not a compliance consultant. We don't determine whether your project requires Buy America compliance or whether a specific product will satisfy your project's reviewer. That's work for your PE of record, your project owner, and potentially your legal counsel.
We're a sourcing platform. We find the manufacturers, maintain the documentation, and make it accessible. You use it as part of your own compliance process. Read our full compliance disclaimer.
